Impact Storytelling for Effective Entrepreneurship-Led Economic Development

A lot is changing in the world of entrepreneurship-led economic development; from utilizing AI to increase capacity to a multitude of professional development opportunities. However, one topic kept resurfacing as we connected with affiliates and partners over the year: what’s the best way to measure the impact of our work? And what’s a compelling way to tell the story of that impact?

It’s a difficult question, but the work is vital to what we do. So vital, in fact, we’ve started a dedicated 4-part blog series just exploring it. (Check out parts 1 and 2 on our blog)

Last month, as part of the 2023 Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration, we hosted a webinar entitled “Impact Storytelling for Effective Entrepreneurship-Led Economic Development” and invited experts share their experience in how they tell the story of what we do. Panelists consisted of Maria Meyers (UMKC Innovation Center and SourceLink), Dr. Lomax R. Campbell, (Third Eye Network, LLC, REDCO and Nexusi90) Cameron Cushman, (HSC Forth Worth and Sparkyard) and Tom Chapman, (Chapman & Company) with our director, Rob Williams moderating.

If you missed this year’s webinar, we’ve got the whole event recorded and up on our YouTube page.

How are you measuring success in your community? We’d love to hear from you. If you have questions about the webinar or would like to get in contact with us or one of our panelists, email Krista Markley to start a conversation!
