The Gorman Discovery Center is an urban nature center where students, families and adults alike can learn about Missouri's plants and animals, learn skills that help you enjoy nature more and enjoy the benefits of spending time in nature.


The Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center is the Missouri Department of Conservation's urban nature center serving the Kansas City metro. We provide free experiential programming for Missouri school districts and free experiential public programs for youth, families and adults. Programming focuses on the plants, animals and habitats of Missouri as well as skills that enhance time spent in nature such as birdwatching, native plant gardening, hunting & fishing and camping.
