The U.S. Small Business Administration recently released two solicitation notices you may want to put on your economic development to-do list.

ScaleUp America (Proposals due July 15, 2015)

ScaleUp America builds on the U.S. Small Business Administration’s core mission by supporting communities’ efforts to deliver targeted intensive assistance. The initiative will provide tailored support to small businesses with average annual revenues of $150-$500K. Access the solicitation here

Regional Innovation Clusters (Proposals due August 4, 2015)

The SBA is investing in regional clusters throughout the United States. The program seeks to contract with organizations that can help cultivate and expand existing economic “clusters,” which are geographically-concentrated, interconnected networks of related or complementary businesses.

These clusters span a variety of industries that include energy, manufacturing, agriculture and advanced defense technologies. The goal of the agency's involvement in clusters is to connect and enhance innovation assets so that small businesses can effectively leverage them to commercialize new technologies and expand into new markets, thereby positioning themselves and their regional economies for growth. Access the solicitation here.

Now, let's go build stronger entrepreneurial communities.
