November was certainly busy for entrepreneurs and small business owners in Iowa. Last month,103 events were listed on the IASourceLink calendar and 36 of them were celebrated during Global Entrepreneurship Week. With something to do for practically everyone, it was easy for interested entrepreneurs to get involved and let their voices be heard.
A lot of great events happened all across Iowa, and a few drew quite a crowd. The Cedar Valley was the place to be during the week, with the official launch of Cedar Valley 1 Million Cups on Wednesday and Startup Weekend Cedar Falls beginning on Friday night. Startup Weekend attracted over 70 people and participants also saw the return of the Iowa Startup Bus.
Global Entrepreneurship Week would not have been nearly as successful without our resource provider partners. By contacting us directly with information on GEW events in their area, we were able to populate our regional calendar of events quickly and dedicate an entire page on IASourceLink to promoting the events. In return for their events we offered them some cool S.W.A.G. (Stuff We All Get) items such as water bottles and pizza cutters.
We also want to give a shout out to U.S. SourceLink, as we really appreciated how much time we saved by using the blog articles and social media templates they supplied us with! And finally, a huge thanks goes out to everyone who attended or supported a GEW event! We at IASourceLink are looking forward to celebrating Global Entrepreneurship next year and hope to have just as may events or more!
