Loudoun Virginia Economic Development kicked off Loudoun SourceLink with a public event Feb. 5. Loudon SourceLink partners were on hand to assist startup and growth oriented business with everything from business planning to clean energy.
More than 80 people crowded into the GW Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn to hear about this new network for entrepreneurship and business support in Loudoun County. The evening also featured a demonstration of the Loudoun SourceLink website and remarks by David Thompson, CEO of Orbital Sciences, a 3,900-global company with deep roots in Loudoun County.
"We're very excited to officially launch this program and website," said Small Business and Entrepreneurship Manager Debi Roder. "We've worked with multiple local and regional partners to connect all of their online resources together, providing small business a huge advance in gathering information and contacts. There are resources for entrepreneurs at all stages of growth, not just startups."
U.S.SourceLink’s Jeremy Hegle was on hand to help with the kickoff, as well as our partners in Loudoun County, VA. “The folks at Loudon County Economic Development have done a great job gaining buy-in from the small business community, which was evident by the great turn out at their launch event. Tom and Debi recognize that it’s not just about creating a website, but creating a true ecosystem where government agencies and the nonprofit community truly come together to find areas of collaboration, foster communication, and make it easier for small businesses to thrive.”
