SBA Beta Tests Contracting Website

Published Jan 24, 2013 by Sarah Mote

The SBA is trying to make it easier for small businesses to find and bid on low-dollar contracts from federal agencies. This month they launched a “beta” version of RFP-EZ, a new online marketplace that streamlines the contracting process.

You can find a few low-dollar contracts through this new website. The signup process has been streamlined to make it easier for small businesses to get government contracts. If the project is successful, the pilot will be expanded to include more contracts.

According to an SBA press release:  “The federal government gets access to the most innovative startups, helping us lower costs and get more bang for the dollars we spend,” said Sean Greene, SBA’s Associate Administrator for Investment and Innovation.  “The small businesses get access to the largest customer in the world.  It’s a win-win.”

The RFP-EZ program was created as part of the Presidential Innovation Fellowship program.

Check it out and tweet or email your feedback to the contact information on the RFP-EZ website.
